The 25th Annual Peach Festival is kickstarting in Candor this year, the town popularly dubbed “The Peach Capital” of North Carolina. The 2023 peach festival Candor NC is scheduled to run from July 13th till the 22nd. Candor has a deep history of growing peaches and celebrates this heritage every year through this lovely event with local eateries, farmers, and entertainers all joining in!
This year the Sandhills of Moore County have joined hands with the town of Candor to extend the festivities beyond the traditional 3-day celebrations, welcoming visitors from near and far to join in. This July, visitors can enjoy a vast assortment of activities throughout the week!

Live Music Performances
Head to the Bluesfest 2023 at the Sunrise Theatre taking place from July 14th to July 15th, which happens to coincide with Peach Week this year! Talented blues artists from around the region will deliver live indoor and outdoor performances showcasing their best works.

If you fancy vintage and classic cars, you are in for a treat. Peach Week will be including an exciting “Power Cars and Peaches” event being hosted on July 16th at the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities.
You can walk the grounds of the beautiful Weymouth Center with your friends and admire the stunning collection of vintage and classic cars on display alongside live entertainment and free servings of peach ice cream from Gilbert’s for all!
Get Your Scoop of Free Ice Cream with The Sandhills Bogeys
If you love freebies, you can indulge in some more free ice cream at the “Life is a Peach” Night with the Sandhills Bogeys playing on July 16th. Head to Bogey’s Field at the Sandhills Community College and enjoy a heated game of baseball between the Old North State League champion Sandhills Bogeys and their rivals, the High Point Hushpuppies.
The first 100 people to come for the game will get a free scoop of peach ice cream from Gilbert’s Ice Cream. So, be there a little early.
Classic Golf Paired With Peachy Refreshments
Fans of golfing, experienced and beginners alike, will love the “Pitch n’ Peach” event scheduled to be held on July 18th at the Longleaf Golf and Family Club. For a simple fee of $15, you can enter the event, take part in the tournament and get a chance to win exciting prizes.
Adults attending the event will be provided complimentary peach beer by the Pinehurst Brewing Company, while kids will be served a scoop of free peach ice cream.
Enjoy A Movie With Your Loved Ones
When you think of peaches, you may undoubtedly remind yourself of the children’s classic “James and the Giant Peach.” Peach Week will dedicate July 19th to a free movie screening of James and the Giant Peach at the Sunrise Theater. Entry to the theater is free, but seats are limited to 275 guests, so you best be on time!
Visitors will also be provided a free “A Trip to the Peach Orchard” book, courtesy of the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
Indulge In Fine Wine
If you are looking for something more romantic for the day, why not head to a classic wine tasting? Peach Week will allow visitors to enjoy a Peach Wine Tasting session at the Watering Cans Wine Bar from July 19th till July 22nd. Visitors will be served complimentary wines for tastings, including specialty brews crafted using fresh, locally sourced peaches.
You will simply come to love the distinct light, fresh, fruity, and sweet balance of peach wine. Besides peach wines, you will also be served an assortment of other fine wines from all over the world.
Tour Blooming Orchards
Peach Week will also offer you amazing opportunities to tour the beautiful peach orchards in the locality. In particular, you should attend the Peach A Palooza event hosted at the James Creek Cider House on July 22nd from 2 PM to 7 PM. Visitors will be provided with guided tours of the orchards and the cidery.
You can enjoy live music performances, watch how fresh peaches are cultivated, handpick some for yourself, and try their specialty peach cider slushies!
Go For A Run – With Proceeds Going To The FirstHealth Cancer Care Fund!
For those who want to engage in outdoor fun, we recommend taking part in the Peach Week 5K Fun Run scheduled to be held at the FirstHealth Pinehurst Fitness Center. Participants need only pay $10 for entry, with all proceeds going to the FirstHealth Cancer CARE Fund!
Moreover, all participants will be provided free ice cream at the finish line alongside healthy snacks, water bottles, an event sticker, and other exciting giveaways.
