Every single time I get to Asheville, my body feels like there has been a weight lifted off my shoulders. There’s something about being in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and in Asheville in particular, that really just melts all the stress of life away. Maybe it’s the elevation and access to all of the natural beauty. Or, maybe it’s that most times when I head to Asheville, it’s to visit one of my favorite stylish little getaways — The Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville. This place has it all plus it’s close to all my favorite shops and galleries, restaurants, and cultural experiences.
The Location of the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
The Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville has an absolutely wonderful location. It sits just outside of the entrance to The Biltmore with access to Biltmore Village. It’s also close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. By close, we’re talking ten minutes. Downtown Asheville is just ten minutes away as well!
The Ambiance at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
This hotel has such a great feel. As you enter the lobby of the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville you’ll immediately notice two things. One, it is a very art-centric hotel. Two, there is a rustic meets contemporary vibe that really makes this hotel stand out. Rich wood tones and a giant fireplace welcome guests. Leather balloon chairs, chandeliers made out of antlers, and beautiful stone work really make the space feel mountain-y and inviting. Then, there’s the art: an eclectic mix of styles and frames that really adds to the aesthetic of the hotel. The furnishings add a touch of contemporary that makes the space truly unique.
The Art at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
The art at the Asheville Grand Bohemian hotel is a perfectly curated collection of various styles of art from paintings to sculptures, jewelry, and even mixed-media. The gallery tries to support as many local Blue Ridge artists as possible; some that are established and some that are up and coming. The best part, is that the art is always changing. This ever-evolving aesthetic allows space for new pieces and new artists throughout the year. On many of the pieces you will find great story-telling and artist info as well.
The Rooms at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
Luxury is the first word that comes to mind. These rooms are large and feature a plethora of details. Massive tufted head boards, rustic antler lamps and chandeliers, comfortable beds, eclectic rugs and art, gorgeous bathrooms, and the perfect tub make these rooms just wonderful. There’s also a rain head for an amazing shower! Black out curtains and high thread count linens assure a perfect night sleep while all the technological amenities allow for you to watch your favorite Netflix show or get remote work done.
The Red Stag inside the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville
Ah, this is probably my favorite part! This place is absolutely amazing. The Red Stag restaurant and bar inside the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville dials in the ambiance. This beautifully lit space really leans into the Blue Ridge’s strengths. Rustic qualities, taxidermy, and leathers abound. It’s hard to describe in words (so check out the photos above :)) but imagine a big mountain speakeasy meets a modern hunting lodge. It’s dim, well-decorated, and serves up delicious and creative cocktails. Now, throw in world-class food like the elk loin or crudo. Voila! A near perfect hotel restaurant. With this place on site, if you don’t want to leave the hotel you really don’t have to. Check in, explore the art, grab supper and a drink from the bar, have a hot bath, watch your favorite show, and get some rest. The mountains and all their beauty will be there in the morning!
