The Omni Grove Park Inn Sunset Terrace has unmatched views of the city of Asheville plus some of the best food in the city. They specialize in steaks and seafood but everything we’ve had from the restaurant is amazing. They also have delicious cocktails, and for us it doesn’t get much better than sipping and Old Fashioned with this view. When it gets go cold, head inside and sit by the fire. Other great options on-site are Elaine’s Dueling Piano Bar and Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen.

1) Curate
Katie Buttons helped put the Asheville culinary scene on the map! If you are into Spanish tapas, then you are at the right place. The potatoes bravas and the pulp are so delicious. We want them now!!!
2) The Admiral
This spot in West Asheville is a delight. It’s a dimly lit restaurant, with a beautiful interior. The food is spectacular and the menu is very creative. Cocktails are always delicious too. The menu does change, but memorable dishes from our visits include the lobster bisque and the flat iron steak.
3) Sovereign Remedies
This popular downtown spot serves up classic cocktails and modern American dishes with a focus on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients.
4) Bull and Beggar
When we visit the West Asheville staple we always sit at the bar! It’s such a great place to grab a craft cocktail. The bartenders know whet they are doing here, so get something on the menu or have them whip up something custom. Then we get to ordering, and the menu here is so delightful. The road pork belly is a star! Probably the best we’ve ever had. The steak frites is the perfect entree too. There’s a lot of options on the menu and all the sides we’ve tried are wonderful too
5) Eldr
This beautiful new spot in the Grovewood Gallery area is decorated lovely. The brunch is fabulous. We had perfectly poached eggs and delicious mimosas. We haven’t experienced dinner there, but rumor has it the pastas they serve are delicious!

If you are into waterfalls look no further than the beautiful ones here. Hooker, Triple, and High Falls are all viewable on one short hike!
3. Black Balsam Knob
The Art Loeb Trail is a classic and views from Black Balsam Knob are truly hard to beat. When in the area also stop by Graveyard Fields!
4. Catawba Falls
This short hike leads to one of the more picturesque cascades in the entire southeast.
5. Mount Mitchell State Park
You’re in the area so you might as well see the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi. The views are really good too!
