Celebrate Independence Day with a bang! Whether you’re a local, a tourist, or a family looking for a fun outing, The Carolinas offer some fantastic spots to watch fireworks. Here are the top places to enjoy Fourth of July fireworks in The Carolinas.

Best of North Carolina

Lake Junaluska

Independence Day Weekend at Lake Junaluska

Enjoy a weekend filled with festivities at Lake Junaluska. The fireworks show begins around 9:30 p.m. on July 3. This event is low-cost/free, making it a great option for families.

Bryson City

Freedom Fest and Fireworks

Experience an old-fashioned street festival in Bryson City. Enjoy great music throughout the day, arts and crafts, a children’s activities area, and a watermelon-eating contest. The fireworks show begins at 10 p.m. and is free for everyone.

Blowing Rock

Fireworks Extravaganza at Tweetsie

Head to Tweetsie Railroad for the largest fireworks show in the High Country. Enjoy a day at the park with general admission before capping it off with a spectacular fireworks display. Admission is $60 for adults and $40 for children.

Asheville

Ingles Independence Day Celebration

Celebrate downtown with Asheville’s Ingles Independence Day Celebration. Highlights include children’s activities, Ultimate Air Dogs, and a fireworks extravaganza. The event is free and perfect for families.

Cornelius

Symphony in the Park & Fireworks

Enjoy a sophisticated evening with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra in Cornelius. Bring your picnic baskets, blankets, and chairs to sit back and relax. Concessions, including wine and local craft beer, will also be available. The fireworks begin immediately following the symphony’s performance.

Charlotte

SkyShow Charlotte at Truist Field

The festivities for these fireworks in The Carolinas will kick off with the Charlotte Knights hosting the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at Truist Field. After the game, enjoy one of the largest fireworks shows in the Southeast, lighting up the Charlotte skyline. Admission starts at $33 for baseball tickets.

Wilmington

Wilmington Pops 4th of July Celebration

Experience historic downtown Wilmington with live music and local food vendors. The fireworks start at 9:05 p.m., launched from a barge in the Cape Fear River. This event is free to attend and offers a unique riverside view of the fireworks.

Outer Banks

Fireworks Over the Outer Banks

Choose from several picturesque locations in the Outer Banks to watch the fireworks. Each spot offers a unique view of the fireworks display, making it a memorable experience:

  • Avalon Pier in Kill Devil Hills
  • Nags Head Fishing Pier in Nags Head
  • Fireworks Over the Sound in Manteo
  • Avon Pier on Hatteras Island in Avon

Best of South Carolina

Spartanburg

Red, White and Boom at Barnett Park

Celebrate Independence Day at Barnett Park with Spartanburg’s premier event, Red, White, and Boom on July 4. This event for fireworks in The Carolinas will run from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with fireworks starting around 9:30 p.m. There will be plenty of free parking in open garages.

Greenwood

Lights on the Lake

Enjoy a beautiful evening by Lake Greenwood for the Lights on the Lake event on Saturday, July 6 from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This is a highlight of fireworks in The Carolinas, with a performance from The Jake Bartley Band.

Greenville

Clemson MBA Fireworks on the Fourth

Head to Unity Park in Greenville to watch the Clemson MBA Fireworks on the Fourth on Thursday, July 4 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. You can bring a picnic, or enjoy bites from local food trucks like HipBurger, The Noodle Lady, Common Pops and more.

Folly Beach

Fourth of July Fireworks on Folly Beach

Don’t miss one of the biggest and best 4th of July fireworks displays on the East Coast at Folly Beach. Starting at dusk, fireworks will go off from the west side of the island, a few blocks from the pier. You can watch all along the beach, and throughout Center Street.

Charleston

Patriots Point 4th of July Blast

Experience an unforgettable 4th of July aboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point in Charleston on July 4 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $95 per person, and this grants access to the USS Yorktown’s flight deck and hangar bays starting at 6 p.m. The firework show will start at approximately at 9:30 p.m.

Isle of Palms

Isle of Palms Fireworks Show

Enjoy a fantastic fireworks show in the Front Beach area of Isle of Palms. The beach area between 21st Avenue to 3rd Sea Cabins closes at 6:30 p.m. for setup, but you can view the fireworks show from all points across the beach. This firework display will begin around 9:00 a.m.
